I have vague memories of when writing fan fiction was easy. Now it feels like pulling teeth.

Yeah, I still sometimes, very rarely (like maybe a few times a year), have good days when I can write 1000 words and be pretty pleased with what I wrote. The rest of the time I'm happy when I can write 200 coherent words. :)
