Yesterday was creator reveal for Night on Fic Mountain exchange, so I can finally admit that I wrote a treat for lynndyre - SCI fic with Bai Chi/Zhao Zhen pairing:

Summary: Bai Chi helps Zhao Zhen deal with the aftermath of the events in episode 15.



I started tentatively, very tentatively, thinking about maybe signing up for Yuletide exchange this year. For the first time I have 4 fandoms I could write in (that never happened to me before, so thank you, Asian dramas :)). But only if Guardian would still be eligible. When I apply filters on AO3 the result is 1159 works, but of course many fics are still wrongly tagged with Language: English – I counted 8 only on the 1st page.


Last, but not least, my first Guardian fic „Kiss me the way I like it” reached 100 kudos a day before yesterday (102 today). Woohoo!

I want to try doing Yuletide this year. I'm scared, but I want to. Guardian exchange convinced me that exchanges can be fun (even if sometimes it's a nerve-wracking fun :)), so big thanks for that. :D

Yuletide is so big that it takes a lot of the pressure off. You can kind of go in knowing that normally very few people will see your story right away (because, small fandoms and lots of fics being posted) so as long as the recipient likes it, it's a win. Plus it's nice to flex writing muscles. Plus you're contributing to a small fandom which needs more works. I wrote for Monstress last year and at the time there were literally 3 fics in the archive. Mine then became 25% of all the posted work (lol). So any Monstress fan checking the archive would have 25% more fic to choose from!

We can start a Yuletide support group for hand holding and cheering! There's a Discord, but it's big and moves fast and is too much for me.

I'm all for Yuletide support group, it's good to know that if I will take the plunge there are people here that would cheer me on. :) And I tried Guardian discord, a few months ago, but yeah, Discord is another platform not for me.

And I've just saw you post about Guardian eligibility and I empathize so much. But as naye wrote above it's highly unlikely that it will reach 1000 stories in the next 3 months.

Yay, glad you enjoyed the Guardian exchange! FWIW, Yuletide isn't all that complicated, despite the culture around it that comes from the sheer size of the thing. But if there's anything I can help with just hit me up. :)

If I'l decide to take part in Yuletide this year I will probably need all the help I can get. So thanks for the offer, I'm keeping it in mind. :)
