I’m slowly going through the Guardian wishlist collection on AO3. There are so many good fics there. I wrote only one fic (see below). I did start the second fic, wrote around 500 words, but then I had to go to Warsaw for three days and never managed to finish that fic. And I won’t finish it now, because RL sucks, mainly because of bad health reasons, and I only have energy for watching dramas and reading fanfic.

It might have started when he saw them cuddling on the couch – Ye Zun burrowing himself so close to Shen Wei’s body as if he wanted to hide underneath Shen Wei’s skin. He was clingy like that sometimes, touch-starved and pouting like a child when Shen Wei tried to move even an inch away.

Or maybe it started when he came back late at night one day and saw them sleeping together on the bed, legs tangled, faces so close that it looked as if they shared a breath.

As for drama watching - my BL watching last Friday and Saturday was like this: delicious and messy angst of Only Friends bracketed by the cuteness of Dangerous Romance and Naughty Babe.

I got everything I wanted from this episode.

A hot Book/Khao kiss – check

Top taking care of Mew – check (that whole scene with Top carrying unconscious Mew to the bedroom and then making sure he’s comfortable, taking off his choker and jacket, and wiping him up, and making sure he lies on his side so he doesn’t choke in his sleep. That was so sweet, and heartbreaking, considering everything else, but also yes, sweet. Well, let me repeat – I’m a sap and I ship them hard. 😊)

Chuem having more screentime, and April being an awesome girlfriend – check (and their matching costumes were great. Nonnie especially looked so, so hot, I want her in more dramas, stat.)

Boston being his usual hot and unrepentant and slutty self – check (I give it to him, he did resist for a teeny tiny moment when Atom hit on him, but then went all “shrug”. He will sleep with Chuem’s little brother and I can’t wait for the fallout.)

Ray was a mess the whole episode, like even more than before, and such an asshole to everybody – to Chuem, to Sand, to that random guy Sand almost made out with. Sand really does give in too easily to him. Especially based on the preview for the next ep – oof, I hope it was misleading, because really Sand, really? But it’s enough for Ray to say “na, na, na” in that pleading tone of voice and look at Sand with those beguiling eyes and Sand crumbles instantly. No wonder him and Nick understand each other so well. P’Jojo twitted about Sand and Nick: “I love their loser friendship.” And yes, me, too. 😊 And we still don’t know what Ray’s father asked Sand to do.

And Top (and we) will meet Mew’s moms in the next episode. Yay!

Dangerous Romance episode 7

Spoilers here, too.

We got a feelings confession and a kiss earlier in episode 6. And that kiss was pretty awkward, but I don’t know if it’s on purpose, or if Perth and Chimon are just that awkward at kissing for now. We’ll see.

And episode 7 was so adorable. And the best was Guy being all “like we don’t know about you and Kang, that was so obvious” to Sailom. Because really it was. I wonder if Kang’s friends are the same. Because Kang is even more obvious – all possessive and jealous whenever someone else touches Sailom. And he’s also so cute when he’s in a boyfriend mode. He’s all in.

And I love Auto being all “no, screw dignity, threw money at me, I want to ride in the luxury car with auto-conditioning instead of sweating while walking in the sun” to Kang. LOL

But please don’t kill Kang’s grandma show, please. And give me more Nawa and Guy – we only have 5 episodes left, and their romance hasn’t even started yet. And give me my GL couple, too, show, I’m begging you.

Naughty Babe episode 5

No spoilery notes this time. Just this – it was super adorable. And so very soap opera-ish, but very entertaining. And Max and Nat both look so beautiful in this drama, even better than they looked in Cutie Pie. And new Nong (they have a new dog playing Kon Diao’s dog) is the cutest and very talented doggie. 😊

I’ve almost finished my Yuletide letter. I decided to go with only Korean dramas for my requests this year. I hope to sign up sometime this week, I don’t want to leave it till the last minute.

I watched two Korean BL dramas this week.

To My Star is about a romance between a famous actor and a young chef.

The Tasty Florida is about a student who starts working at the popular restaurant and falls in love with the restaurant’s owner and head chef.

Both dramas are cute and sweet with a minimal conflict and a happy ending. They’re well-acted, with a lot of pretty boys, nice chemistry between the leads, and a few lovely kisses. Both are very short (To My Star has 9 episodes, and The Tasty Florida has 8) and are available on VIKI.

The Devil Judge continues to be very entertaining. Not only the relationship between two male leads is delightfully slashy, but there is also delicious F/F subtext in two flavors: between the main female villain and her loyal henchwoman, and between the same main female villain and a young, idealistic judge.



And the last good thing is connected to my newfound love for 2PM. I admit I’m not really interested in checking the songs of other K-pop groups. But I did watch a few other groups covering 2PM’s songs. And I really liked the one version in particular. Because seriously – how can you not like seven beautiful girls in suits dancing and singing My House without changing the pronouns. So you have one of those beautiful girls, who looks super-hot in her elegant suit, starting the song with “Hey girl” said in such a sultry voice. She later sings Taecyeon’s part and she’s very good at it. :)

It’s hot and stuffy. My thermometer showed 35 degrees of Celsius this morning, so it was probably around 40 at noon. I hate such weather, my heart hates such weather. Can it get a bit colder soon? Please?

Luckily there is a lot of new and good fannish stuff, so I have a lot of distractions.

Collection for Multifandom Drabble Exchange opened on Sunday.

There are 7 SCI fics. And they are all wonderful. I’m so glad this small fandom still attracts new people.

And there are 13 Guardian fics, with 3 great Chu Shuzhi/Guo Changcheng fics.


And speaking of SCI, the official version on youtube has subtitles for all episodes but one now. Episode 21 is still without subtitles. I started a re-watch last week, and I’m up to episode 11 already. And I love this drama so much. Bai Chi is the sweetest puppy. And Ma Han is super cool. But enough about depressing RL stuff. Let’s talk about more pleasant things.

I signed up for 520 Day Reverse Guardian Exchange. A few days ago I made a decision that I would sit this one out. But I had fun last year and writing fanfic is a good distraction, and it’s a low minimum exchange, so yesterday I changed my mind and signed up.

I posted my Chu Shuzhi post on sid_guardian.

I almost finished my next Guardian fic. It just needs an ending and one scene in the middle. Like I’ve said writing fic = good distraction.

Dusk in Rio by Super Cat

It’s a post “The Tale of the Body Thief” fic. It’s about Lestat, Louis and David establishing boundaries in Rio.

It’s my absolute favorite Vampire Chronicles fic. I have it downloaded, but I thought it was lost from the internet forever. But it’s not and I’m always happy to rec it.

I’m working from home today. I don’t have access here to all the files and programs I need for the full time work, and I’m going to the office on Monday. So right now I don’t really have to do much more than checking my business e-mail in case my boss needs something from me.

So let’s talk about other, more pleasurable things.

Fanvid recs:

Shen Wei vid “Traitor, Our Doom” by extrapenguin

This is a wonderful vid which shows Shen Wei from the POV of someone who thinks that Black Cloaked Envoy is a traitor betraying Dixing.

It introduced me to Sirenia. I never heard of that band before and I already love it. I have listened to the full version of Fifth Column at least 5 times since yesterday.


The Witcher fanvid by voordeel - the devil and the huntsman

They are an amazing artist. I loved a lot of their other vids, especially Black Sails ones. And this one is fantastic, too.


What I’m watching:

Crash Landing On You – it’s a Korean drama about a South Korean heiress crash landing in North Korea due to a paragliding accident during the storm. She meets a North Korean captain, who after some initial resistance starts to help her. And of course they fall in love.

Main female character is played by Son Ye-jin, whom I loved in Something in the Rain. The main actor is good, too and they have nice chemistry.

I’m up to episode 4 and for now I really enjoy it. It has a right mix of comedy and drama and action. I have one reservation. For now it doesn’t spoil the fun for me, but it means that at times I just have to turn off thinking for a scene or two. And my reservation is this - I’m not saying that the drama glamorizes North Korea exactly, but it mostly shows that country as this peaceful place populated by nice and friendly people (with only some bad apples in the mix), who sometimes have to deal with some inconveniences, like for instance the light getting turned off in the evening, without warning and without knowing when it will be turn on again. After all people can just light some candles and isn’t it so charmingly old fashioned? From someone who lived under the communist regime and had to deal with things like that – no, no, it isn’t. It’s just pain in the ass.


You Are The Miracle – a new drama with Ji Xiaobing. I watched the first two episodes, but I don’t know if I will watch more. It’s boring, main female character is rather bland and even Ji Xiaobing’s character doesn’t interest me much.


The Untamed – I’m up to episode 12. I enjoy it and it’s always a pleasure to look at Lan Zhan’s beautiful face. But I admit I’m not really interested in the plot, so I watch only one or two episodes a week.


Guardian – I re-watch some episodes in preparation for writing my Chu Shuzhi post for sid_guardian


Legends of Tomorrow – I can always count on that show to make me laugh. ( Spoilers for the 8th episode here )


Other things:

I write quite a lot, which is great. And I plan to post a few more Guo Changcheng/Chu Shuzhi recs in merit_brush_recs.

And I got my last Make Our Days Count fic from my beta-reader, so I edited it and posted it today.

Good thing that this weekend is a long one here – 6th of January is one of major religious holidays in Poland. I don’t have to go to work on Monday and I can spend 3 days reading fanfic. :D
