It's finally weekend

Private real life is ok, everything about political situation here in Poland is either depressing or rage inducing. Presidential election next Sunday, and then a second round of voting on 12th of July (it’s almost certain that there will be a second round). I’m getting more and more anxious and preparing mentally for the next five years of PIS rule. And that would be disastrous.


Writing fanfic helps. That’s why I’m considering signing up for Juletide.

Watching Hospital Playlist also helped a lot. I finished it on Wednesday and it’s such an optimistic, funny, charming and heart-warming drama. People die sometimes, of course, it’s a hospital, but generally everything ends well, bad people appear very rarely and they are always punished. And doctors and nurses are almost universally excellent at their job, and they are nice, understanding, patient and empathetic. And even when patient dies it’s never because someone was too lazy or incompetent or neglectful. And our five main characters are such great friends. They tease each other sometimes, but never in a mean way, they never fight, and they always support each other.

It’s so unrealistic, but also exactly what I need these days, when real world sucks so much. I just want the fantasy of “the world is good, people are generally good, and everything will be fine” variety. And Hospital Playlist provides that in spades.

There are romantic subplots, sure, but they are secondary, and the main plot is everyday life at the hospital and the friendship between the five main characters. And all the main characters are 40 years old. It’s so refreshing to watch.

And yes, there is only one woman among those five main characters. But there are a lot of wonderful supporting female characters.

And there will be the second season, which makes me very, very happy.

And as an additional enticement here is 12 minutes long vid on youtube with some of the funniest moments from the drama.


Another thing that helps is browsing twitter and tumblr for Liu Yaoyuan pics, and then imagining different Tang Fan/Sui Zhou/Wang Zhi modern AU scenarios. One of them might get written after I finish my already started threesome fic, which will be finished after I’m done with my RMS fic. So probably not very soon. :)

I am very depressed about Polish everything. It's gotten so vile--well, you know yourself. I hope the second round results will be different than we fear, but... Sigh sigh.

I'm also considering Juletide. And I signed up for the multifandom drabble, which I always love, but also: all the distractions are needed right now.

Thanks for the hugs, they are very much appreciated. And yeah, it's so vile, that it's hard to stand. I live in hope for Trzaskowski's win, but I know many people, sometimes even very nice people in other ways, that support PIS. It's hard to be optimistic lately. *sigh*

And writing fanfic is a good distraction, and deadlines are motivating, so I'm glad that there are so many exchanges to choose from. :)

He is indeed a very attractive young man! While I'm so far all about Tang Fan/Sui Zhou, I will admit that Wang Zhi occasionally features in some of my wishful thinking scenarios!

That fandom is great for me because I love all the pairings. I love Tang Fan/Sui Zhou and Ding Rong/Wang Zhi and the threesome. I just wish there was more fic for all of them. :D

Thanks for the hugs. *hugs back* And I really recommend Hospital Playlist. The age of the main characters and the lack of focus on romance is already great, but it's also well written and very well acted drama.

Yes, the modern hair suits Liu Yaoyuan very well. I love Wang Zhi and I think he's pretty, but it's telling that I think he was prettiest while pretending to be a beggar, without that official hairdo. :)
