I was thinking about the tragic backstory part of Love Scout, and I think it makes it so transparent that the purpose of that trope is for the main characters to heal their own and each other's childhood trauma. And you're right, Love Scout did it so well! I love how adult they both were, without being overly serious or po-faced. I loved how often she looked at him and grinned to herself about how cute he was. I loved how well he cared for her and used his dad powers in the office. It was just adorable through and through! I'm so happy I watched it. :D
