Random music recs

Schools and universities are closed until 25th for now, all cultural institutions are closed. Shopping malls and restaurants and cafes are closed, too. People who don’t have to go to the office are encouraged to work from home. I took Monday and Tuesday off work, because I was supposed to go to Warsaw. I’m not going, of course, but I still took those two days off just to rest at home a little. There are still no confirmed cases in my region of Poland. But it will probably change soon.

But for now have a few random and eclectic music recs. :)


Lin Manuel Miranda released a cut Hamilton song “I have this friend” sung by Hamilton and Washington.


Jakub Józef Orliński is a Polish countertenor. He’s beautiful and he sings like an angel. Here is the video of him singing Vivaldi’s "Vedro con mio diletto" from Il Gustino. He is dressed like that, very casually, because this is the recording for a radio show, and I think at first they didn’t plan to film it and post it on youtube.


Rafał Blechacz is a fantastic Polish classical pianist. Here is his winning performance from 15th International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2005 (it starts around 1:30) – he’s playing Chopin’s Polonez As-dur op. 53
