This post is only about Thai dramas. There are two Korean BLs, Our Dating Sim and All The Liquors, I want to watch but I’m waiting for all the episodes to become available on VIKI.
A Boss and a Babe
A new drama, which only started airing last week, with another employee/employer office romance, and with a sunshine one/grumpy one pairing.
It’s cute. I can’t really say much more after one episode. The leads are good looking and they have nice chemistry. It’s nothing exceptional, but not too horrible – a nice, relaxing watch hopefully. I’m not impatient to watch everything at once, so it will be a great drama for one-episode-a-week watching for me.
My School President
So adorable, so optimistic, so heartwarming with a lovely happy ending. Now I can recommend it with a clear conscience.
Since one of the leads is in the band there are a lot of songs, at least one each episode, sometimes more. They’re not that bad, but still I fast-forwarded a little sometimes. I can stomach one song per episode, two or three is definitely too much for me. Unless the singer is called Jeff Satur. 😊
The two lead actors Gemini and Fourth are very talented despite being so young, and I’m very curious what will they do next. And I will definitely watch it. And by next I mean after “23.5”, that GL drama with Milk and Love, where they play the secondary BL couple, and which is supposed to air this year, although I don’t know when exactly.
Moonlight Chicken
It definitely stuck the landing. The last two episodes were very good. And again now I can recommend this drama with clear conscience.
I have just one super tiny complaint. I do think that maybe the drama solved all the problems a bit too neatly. Rationally I would prefer a bit more uncertainty and messiness in the ending. But emotionally, when RL sucks so much for me right now, I’m very grateful for the beautiful and optimistic happy ending.
Never Let Me Go
Someone called it GMMTV’s answer to KinnPorsche, and yeah, I can see that. There are a few similarities on the surface. It’s about a romance between a rich boy, who’s a bit spoiled, but mainly lonely and unhappy, and his loyal bodyguard. I’m writing ‘boy’ because the characters are both only 18 years old and still in high school.
I watched 9 episodes, and in general it’s ok I guess, but nothing special. But loyalty kink is one of my favorite iddy tropes, and this drama is chock-full of it. So I’m enjoying it a lot.
The lead actors Pond and Phuwin are both good enough actors (Pond is better, Phuwin is a bit weaker, but nothing too distracting). They are both very pretty, have nice chemistry and are very good at kissing. The proof is behind the cut in the form of three gifs. 😊
