Ufff, everything is fine with my sister. Her operation on Tuesday morning was successful, they let her go home on Wednesday morning. And she felt fine enough that she was complaining about being stuck at home and being bored on Wednesday afternoon. Woohoo!
I feel like dancing with joy. But instead here are my musings about the latest episodes of two kdramas, and two fanvid recs for another kdrama.
Flower of Evil
I have recs for two wonderful and heartwarming fanvids about Do Hyun Soo and his daughter Eun Ha. What more do you need but my beautiful Lee Joon Gi being so lovely and sweet with an adorable little girl. 😊
Winter Bear
Daddy's gift Eunha
I have to say that Eun Ha’s actress was amazing in this drama. And it seems she had a great time while shooting it, because I also found a short BTS vid from the last day of the shooting that has this sweet little girl bursting into tears and saying “I want to continue filming”. Awww...
The vid is here on Youtube.
The Fiery Priest 2 episodes 1-2
The second season of The Fiery Priest started airing and I already watched the first two episodes. And I like it. Almost all the good guys are back, it makes me laugh a lot, and Kim Nam Gil is beautiful and his acting is as always excellent. And this drama has fantastic fighting scenes. Especially if it’s Kim Nam Gil doing the fighting – being so gorgeous and tall with these incredibly long legs, and looking sexy dressed all in black. 😊
And the main villain is gorgeous, too, and a complete psychopath. The duel between him and Hae Il will be so entertaining to watch.
I don’t know how I feel about Hae Il being so ill yet, since I’m certain that it will lead to a lot of angst down the line. And like I didn’t expect all fluff all the time from this drama, of course not. Murders and other crimes done by horrible people are a given. I just didn’t expect something so realistically horrible like an long term illness here. And about our main hero.
I wanted this drama to cheer me up, and it looks like I will be needing cheering up because of this drama. 😊
Family by Choice episodes 11-12
That was wonderful, it made me laugh so much, and it made me cry again.
Hae Jun and Dal make an adorable couple. Hae Jun already sees that Dal is an awesome person, and I’m sure he will find himself falling for her soon. And I can’t wait for Hae Jun to finally notice that Dal is in love with him. I want them to get together ASAP and have a lot of cute couply scenes.
And I like San Ha and Ju Won as a couple, too. It makes sense to me. They weren’t raised as siblings the way Hae Jun and Ju Won were. San Ha had feelings for Ju Won already when he was a teenager. And he carried that torch for ten years. They know each other so well, they are comfortable with each other. And I get how Ju Won (who also absolutely felt something like the beginning of a crush back then, even if she didn’t realize it) would so quickly go from ‘my beloved Oppa is back, and I am angry at him, but also I missed him terribly’ to ‘wow, he’s a wonderful man, he’s caring, kind, understanding, and of course super hot, too, I think I’m catching feelings here’.
So, both canon couples are lovely, but I still want at least a few fics about OT3, pretty please. 😊 And apparently in the original Chinese drama this drama is based on there was a proper love triangle between the three kids, and I’m so fricking happy that they didn’t do it here. On the contrary in these episodes they went out of the way to show that there isn’t even a tiniest bit of anything romantic between Ju Won and Hae Jun. That they are siblings through and through. I love it.
San Ha’s mother is a self-centered, bitter, hateful woman. And it’s so unpleasant to watch, because she isn’t just some kind of cartoonishly evil mother, who you can gleefully hate and laugh at, she’s realistically awful. Her scenes are always hard for me to watch, and sometimes I have to fast-forward through them, because they’re just too much.
And I guess I get how Hae Jun’s mother could come to the conclusion that she needs to stay out of Hae Jun’s life for him to live this ordinary life she wants him to live. But yes, that comes off as pretty selfish to me, like she’s thinking only about her peace of mind, because seeing Hae Jun hurts her. But what about Hae Jun and what’s hurting him? And that is the feeling that his beloved mother abandoned him. But I feel like she could still have her redemption, or at least I can see her working hard on repairing her relationship with her son in a way that I could accept. There is no way I could accept something like that with San Ha’s mother. But I don’t think the drama will go there with her.

A bit more with spoilers here.
I already love Cha Do U. He’s a new character and totally Kim Hae Il’s mini-me, with the same sense of justice and anger issues. And with the reveal of Hae Il’s terminal illness (multiple sclerosis) it’s obvious that Do U is being set up as our fiery priest’s sort of successor.I don’t know how I feel about Hae Il being so ill yet, since I’m certain that it will lead to a lot of angst down the line. A lot of spoilers here.
Who made me cry again? Of course it was Dad Yun and Hae Jun. And I get why Dad Yun is angry, he didn’t want Hae Jun to feel and think this way, like he has to repay Dad Yun for raising him. He feels guilty and heartbroken, and I get that. But all I could think of was ‘aww, don’t yell at Hae Jun, please, it’s not his fault’. Good thing they worked it out in these two episodes. My heart wouldn’t take it if I had to wait a week for them to patch things up. I like many things in this drama, but their relationship is my favorite and the most important to me.Hae Jun and Dal make an adorable couple.
