I finished:

Rented in Finland – for the last three months this was my comfort show. I had so much fun watching this four guys trying to survive in Lapland. I could always count on it to cheer me up and make me laugh.

Check in Hanyang – it was an entertaining fusion sageuk with a cute happy ending. I liked it, but it was nothing special. And truly speaking it only made me want to re-watch The Matchmakers.

The Heart Killers – in one word: disappointing. I expected something much better from Jojo Tichakorn, and from First and Khaotung. Joong as Fadel saved this drama for me, and made me watch it to the end. If not for him I would have dropped it a long time ago.

I started:

Call Me by No-Name – I was in the mood for fucked up GL, and I heard that this Japanese GL drama was about a messy and complicated relationship. I watched four episodes since yesterday and I really love it. And the main relationship is indeed so wonderfully messy and complicated, as promised. It’s available with English subs on GagaOOlala.

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call – all the opinions I’ve read about it were positive, but at first I thought ‘do I really want to watch a medical drama about an abrasive genius doctor with poor social skills, just a kdrama version?’ But I started it on a whim yesterday and watched the 1st episode, and you know what? I really liked it. It’s well written, engaging, very well acted, and I already have a, non-canon of course, m/m ship. And it’s short – just eight episodes. I’m looking forward to watching more this evening.

And right now the only show that I’m watching week to week as it airs is Perfect 10 Liners.

Spoilers for episodes 17-18 here.Junior and Mark are great. And everything about Faifa’s personality and trauma he has because of their horrible mother keeps breaking my heart. But now Wine is here, and I hope Faifa can heal a little and starts taking care of himself instead of taking care of everyone around him and neglecting his own needs.

And ohhh, Wine, my poor, poor boy, who’s broken a little bit, too. He will help Faifa and Faifa will help him. He already does. I loved Faifa so much for the way he helped Wine with that task that was so hard for Wine’s poor introverted self.

But I admit that I thought it was one of those BL dramas where homophobia didn’t exist. I mean, nobody ever talks about anything like sexual identity. Arm had a girlfriend in the past, but him and everybody else considers it perfectly normal that he falls in love with a boy this time. Nobody’s parents are surprised that their son dates a guy. And suddenly after 17 episodes of all this we have Wine with his despair over liking men and his ‘Can you please tell me that who I am is normal?’ plea. I’m not saying it is a bad thing, necessarily. Just that it was abrupt and unexpected. And I hope that they will handle it well.

My beloveds Klao and Warich were only in episode 18 in one short scene. But I’ll take it. And my other beloveds Arc and Arm had a few lovely scenes.

And I laughed out loud at that scene of Gun showing appreciation for Arc’s beautiful half-naked body and Yotha being so hilariously jealous. Here is a gifset of this scene I found on tumblr.

And that sweet moment when Arc asked Arm in episode 17: “Do you want to get married?” Aww, my heart... They are adorable together and I love them so much. And I know Arm said he wanted to wait, but now I want that wedding in the drama. Or you know any wedding. It can be Sand and Pond, or Yotha and Gun, or Klao and Warich. I just really love weddings in BL and GL dramas, so give me one show, please. 😊
