It is an awesome twist. Usually I like spoilers, but I'm glad I didn't know this time. It's nice to have that "wow, they really did that" feeling sometimes. :) And they clearly counted on getting the 2nd season with that ending, but everything I read indicates that it won't happen. Pity.
