I read this meta on AO3 and I have thoughts about KinnPorsche that aren’t about Vegas/Pete. Shocking, I know. ;)

This meta gives KinnPorsche writers more credit than they deserve IMO, but it’s interesting and I agree with some parts of it.

More with spoilers below.

Because Korn is a lying liar who lies, and an expert manipulator who treats other people like chess pieces (yes, his sons, too). And I absolutely believe Kan’s version of events from the past more than Korn’s. And I don’t know, maybe I will change my mind after a re-watch (which I started yesterday), but I feel like Porsche has to see this, at least to some extent, but he stays where he is and where Korn wants him to be, because he thinks it’s the only way to protect the people he loves. And that includes Kinn, who still blindly obeys his father. I wouldn’t say “trusts”, I don’t know if Kinn still truly trusts Korn, more like he doesn’t allow himself to distrust him.

I was disappointed with Vampire Detective, but I will still be forever grateful to this drama because it introduced me to the beauty and the acting talent of Lee Joon. And that gave me motivation to give Bulgasal Immortal Souls a second chance. Because I did watch the first two episodes as soon as this drama started airing on Netflix, and I was so bored that I dropped it. But I knew Lee Joon played villain in Bulgasal (he appears for the first time in the 4th episode), so I decided, after finishing Vampire Detective, to try again. And oh my God, I’m so happy that I did. I still don’t really care about the male lead’s angst and manpain (there is even a fridged wife, because of course there is). But Lee Joon is amazing and terrifying and hot as hell as the main villain. I’m sure I was making heart-eyes every time he was on screen in the 4th episode. And the male lead definitely has more chemistry with him than with the female lead IMO. There was even a homoerotic non-con blood drinking already (Bulgasal from the title is the name of a monster that has to drink blood to survive), which I predictably loved. It’s like this drama gives me what Vampire Detective didn’t. :)
