RL sucks, but I don’t want to talk about it now. I might vent a little in a locked post later, but for now I just want to not think about it. So let’s talk about dramas instead.

Dead Friend Forever

The finale aired on Saturday. It was a perfect horror ending and I loved it.

Spoilers below.

Read moreI did get a bit pissed for a few seconds thinking that Jin got his happy ending for real despite everything he did. But then they showed Tee, who was not in prison for killing White, and I instantly started to suspect that no, it wasn’t a happy ending after all, something else was happening. And then Phee said “We never left that house”, and I cheered.

And it was so perfect that Non called it. There was this scene before when hysterical Non was rewriting his script and he wrote this sentence:

“Lastly no one survives. No one could leave this abandoned house, not even one.”

So yes, for me they were still there and they all died there, or will die there. And I think New knew that he wouldn’t be getting out of that house alive. And I also think he was fine with that, because he didn’t have anything left.

The King Loves

I started watching it at china_shop’s recommendation. I watched two episodes for now and I enjoyed it. OT3 vibes are indeed great, and I’m so interested in one of the villains – the ruthless killer with a red snake tattoo on his arm. I mean, he’s beautiful and he kills without remorse, he was made for me. 😊

I admit that I found the male lead a bit annoying in the 1st episode, but he did improve in the 2nd episode, so I’m willing to tolerate him for now despite me instantly having the second lead syndrome. 😊

Wedding Impossible

It’s a new kdrama that started airing recently, six episodes aired for now. It’s about a talented actress Na Ah Jeong who works as an extra waiting for her big break, and who gets entangled with two brothers from a chaebol family. The older one Do Han is her friend of 15 years and he now asks her to marry him in a contract marriage. He was living in the US for the last five years, and now his family wants him to come back to Korea and pressures him to marry and take over the family business. And he doesn’t want to do that, because he wants to be an artist, and more importantly because he’s gay and deeply in the closet. Ah Jeong knows he’s gay, so he proposes a contract marriage to her, and promises her that they can just quietly divorce in three years.

The main romance is between Ah Yeong and Do Han’s younger brother Ji Han. But I’m not interested in that, since yes, I wanted to watch this drama mainly because I wanted to see how the mainstream Korean drama will treat its main gay character. Because Do Han is listed as a main character, not as a supporting one. And you know what? So far so good. There are still six episodes to air, so who knows, it could turn into a disappointing disaster, but for now Do Han is a very interesting, complex character with past and current (well, sort of) love life. And I love his relationships with his brother and with Ah Jeong. Here is hoping the drama will continue to do well in that regard.

Two Worlds

And I’m ending this post with a trailer for a Thai BL drama Two Worlds. It's here on youtube.

It’s Domundi’s new drama with Max and Nat as the leads. It starts airing on iQIYI the next week. There are parallel universes, there is drama and murder, and a steamy romance (or rather two different romances in two universes), and Max as a cruel gangster in one of the universes. I’m excited to see him playing a villain. I can’t wait.
