I never had “Taecyeon in Japanese BL” on my bingo card for 2024, but here it is. 😊 The drama is called Soulmate and it stars Taecyeon and Isomura Hayato.

Here is the article on MyDramaList about it. And here is the confirmation from the official Netflix account on twitter that it is indeed “a love story between two young men”.

Yay, yay, yay!!! I’m already waiting impatiently. 😊

Btw, I don't watch reality TV, but I've just seen the new trailer for Netflix's The Boyfriend (it's Japanese) and it looks so adorable and wholesome. <3

What great news!

I love him anyway but particularly after our recent disappointment with K.Will's vid, it's lovely to see a major Korean star appearing in a BL work!

The 'happy ending' crossed my mind as well given with a lot of E. Asian dramas there's no guarantee of that at all.

I suspect, strongly, that given it's a star of Taecyeon's calibre this will be one of those dramas with nothing more than hugs and perhaps waking up in the same bed together, but I'm still excited for it!

As it is, there are quite a few Kdrama BLs with no kissing or at best, one closed mouth one... but then it also has to be said that a lot of E. Asian M/F dramas don't go in for anything very graphic either.

No tragic ending will make me happy! Also, I love Taecyeon anyway but I'm also excited that his management would even allow this at his level suggesting things are loosening up even more in Korea.
