In this episode everything is perfect and nothing hurts. No matter what happens in episode 20 I will always have this perfection. But apparently History dramas always have a happy ending, so I’m not very worried. :)
Massive spoilers behind the cut.
First let’s talk about Tang Yi/Shao Fei hospital scene. It kinds seems as if the scene in the hospital is quite soon after the shooting, maybe even the same day. But Shao Fei is in a very good shape considering. He even plays the prank on Tang Yi. That whole scene is wonderful. With Tang Yi guilty and worried and Shao Fei being so compassionate and understanding and loving. The way he nuzzles up against Tang Yi’s shoulder... Awwwww, so sweet and touching. And we have “I love you” from Shao Fei and the lovely kiss.
Shao Fei continues to be compassionate and understanding and loving through the whole episode. He’s like that with his future father in law Chen Wen Hao, too. :) He calls him uncle and talks with him about Li Chen and urges him to stop selling drugs. And Chen Wen Hao is resigned to the fact that he could maybe never reconcile with his son and very glad that his son has someone who loves him and takes care of him. And then they hug, for a long time. Awwwww.... <-- that seems to be my reaction to a lot of scenes in this episode. :)
Tang Yi is under the house arrest, but apparently Shao Fei can visit anytime he wants, because we get absolutely lovely kitchen scene next with them cooking together and kissing and being so adorably domestic.
But what I loved the most was predictably everything about Jack/Zhao Zi. I thought that today I could talk about it without squeeing too much, but nope... Every time I think about them I grin like mad. Their scenes were perfect.
That first one with Zhao Zi being so distressed and crying, poor boy. And then Jack says “If you don’t want me to leave... Then I’ll stay” and Zhai Zi says “Don’t go,” with such a tearful gaze. And then they kiss and it’s such a wonderful, passionate and loving kiss. After the kiss Zhao Zi starts smiling and just burrows contentedly into Jack’s arms and looks at him with eyes that are so happy this time. And Jack’s gaze is... I have no words... Jack looks as if he still couldn’t quite believe that something he wanted so much for such a long time is finally his. He looks as if forgot to breathe for a moment. You bet I watched this scene at least 5 times already.
And the last scene with Jack just appearing at Zhao Zi’s house all “Hi, I’m moving in.” He’s so shameless... He says that he will be a very good househusband and he will cook for Zhao Zi all the time. :DDD Then we have Jack and Zhao Zi being adorably domestic, too and discussing sharing the chores. And then the second kiss, which Zhao Zi initiates this times, after Jack repeats his line from episode 12: “I’m hungry. Care to give me a bite?”. :D This is a wonderful, hot kiss that continues on the kitchen table. And I can’t get over the way Jack always tenderly cradles Zhao Zi’s head with one hand. Yes, I watched that scene at least 5 times already, too.
I expect some angst for them in the last episode. We still didn’t have that scene from the trailer when Zhao Zi was angry at Jack and pushing him away. I think he will find out that Jack is a mercenary and worked for the Interpol. After all he asked Jack “You won’t be like them, having another face, right??” in that first scene and Jack looked so conflicted then and of course didn’t answer. I just hope that the angst is temporary. We’ll see soon. :)
