Today was a good day. My internet is back. My heart seems to be fine again. Work was non-irritating and non-exhausting. And I wrote almost 900 words of post-canon Li Dabao/Lin Tao/Qin Ming fic. Because apparently this is what I do now – write fics for tiny fandoms, the less works in English on AO3 the better. ;)
Anyway, here is the most of what I wrote today. Now I just need to write the sex scene and find the title, and it will be ready for beta-reading. :)
Standard disclaimer – English is not my first language, so there are a few “a” and “the” in the wrong places for sure, and probably other SPAG errors, too. :)
Lin Tao never planned to have “I’m so grateful you’re both alive and well” sex with Qin Ming and Li Dabao. He thought about it, he might even dream about it once or twice. But he never expected it to really happen.
His last relationship fell apart a few months ago and he wasn’t even surprised to realize that he wasn’t much distressed about it. He did miss quite a few meetings and ignored quite a few calls because of his work. But also, when he did have a free time, he preferred to spend it with Qin Ming and Li Dabao. No wonder his last girlfriend gave him a speech that started with “I want to break up” and ended with “And don’t ever call me again.” He expected to be brokenhearted, but in truth he was kind of relieved.
And after if he caught himself staring at Qin Ming’s luscious lips or Dabao’s laughing eyes and deft hands and imagined things, he at least didn’t feel guilty afterwards.
But it was a fantasy, right? And it could never turn into reality. They didn’t think about him that way and the best thing he could do was to try pushing them together and hope they would get a clue soon. And he would be content that his old friend and his new friend were happy together.
Then Qin Ming was suspected of murder and arrested. And Dabao almost died. And there was nothing like the life-threatening experience to make you realize that you were in love with your two best friends.
He was still in the “making the decision what to do with that fact” stage, when Dabao forced the issue.
They were in her apartment, celebrating her full recovery and return to work next day with delicious food and a lot of beer. Dabao was looking at both of them with the speculative look in her eyes, which was a bit frightening, but also arousing. She looked cute in soft sweat pants and small white T-shirt that was riding up and exposing her flat stomach every time she raised her arms. Lin Tao tried not to stare too much, but the only other option was to stare at Qin Ming, who as always looked beautiful and perfectly poised in one of his elegant suits.
“Ok, listen,” Dabao said, after she finished her first beer. “Life’s too short and I don’t wanna regret that I didn’t do it when I had the chance. So I’m just going to say it.”
She turned to Lin Tao and gestured to Qin Ming with the mischievous glint in her eyes.
“Don’t you want to just get him out of this suit and ravish him?” she asked.
Lin Tao choked on his beer, his arms flailing as he tried to catch his breath. In contrast Qin Ming froze completely, resembling now more a beautiful marble statue than a live human being. Only his eyes, wide and shocked, indicated that he heard what Dabao said, but didn’t know how to process that information.
Dabao was looking at them expectantly, a satisfied smile on her face. Lin Tao opened his mouth to protest that no, really, he would never in a million years, but then closed it, because yes, he would, in a heartbeat. Ah, what a hell, he could admit it. After all Dabao started it.
“Yeah,” he said, smiling. “Oh yes.”
They both looked at Qin Ming, who was slowly losing his stiffness and started to resemble a human being again. He was breathing hard, a light pink hue on his cheeks, but his eyes lost this shocked, frozen look. He mostly looked contemplative now, but also maybe a little bit scared. It was adorable and Lin Tao grinned at Dabao, who grinned back at him with a wink.
“Well?” Dabao said, looking at Qin Ming, and making an urging hand gesture.
Qin Ming gave her another thoughtful look.
“I accept your romantic overtures,” he finally said. “But I think it will be better if I will get out of this suit myself. It’s new and I don’t want it to get creased.”
Lin Tao snickered, amusement mixing with arousal in his mind. Dabao just sprawled more comfortably on her couch, her eyes filled with sudden interest.
“All right,” she said. “But be quick about it.”
Qin Ming stood up, his hands going to the buttons of his vest. But he stopped when neither Lin Tao nor Dabao moved from their places.
“Are you going to watch?” he asked, raising one eyebrow.
“Oh absolutely,” Dabao said with the wide smile.
