HIStory 3 Make Our Days Count

I finally found time to watch the first two episodes of the next History 3 drama. I agree with the negative opinions I read. It’s rather badly written and badly acted by most of the actors. And I find the main couple very boring. I fast-forwarded through most of their scenes in the 2nd episode.

But, and it will probably come as no surprise to anyone, I already kinda like the secondary couple. :)

Minor spoilers below.

The age gap doesn’t bother me, and at least one part of the couple is an adult. And he’s very handsome IMO. There was a forced kiss already, because of course there was. It is after all a HIStory drama. Sun Bo Xiang is pushy and immature, which I could to without, but he’s what, 17 or 18, so eh, I can stand it for a short while. I just hope he will change his behavior soon.

It’s just 10 episodes and I have nothing new to watch now, so I will finish it. But why, oh why can’t HIStory people make another drama about adults instead of high schoolers? Trapped was so good and iddy in just the right way. I want another drama like that.

The secondary couple gets better, but they have *nothing to do* all show long!

I hated Sun Bo Xiang's stalking. I found it so terrible I almost gave up on the show right there - in, what, ep 2?

He gets better immediately once he's accepted, and I don't even dislike their porny sex scene - at least they're completely consensual the whole time, which makes it much easier for me.

But they have *no plot*! They have a lot of scenes, but nothing at all happens. I don't understand it.

I actually didn't watch the last episode, because I'm afraid it's heading for an unhappy ending. I really don't need to torture myself with that, after the rest of the show was so bad already.

I almost gave up after the 1st episode, because of the the main couple being boring and devoid of any charm for me. But then I started fast-forwarding and it instantly became more bearable. ;)

That's good to know, too. :) The thing about no plot is unfortunate, but like I've said, it's just 10 episodes and I can fast-forward through boring bits. As for the ending I read detailed spoilers, so I know how it ends.

The main couple doesn't have a happy ending. The secondary couple, if I understood correctly, does.

Thank you! I got a vibe from the ending of the penultimate episode that they were going to kill one of them, so I stopped watching. Guess I was right.

Wtf, this really breaks all the expectations of the HIStory franchise. Not that it was a good installment, but they all had happy endings for everyone before this one, and I think nobody expected a change in that. It was the only "safe" BL thing to watch.

Ah, well. Thank you! This does save me some heartache. <3

From what I've read a lot of people watching were furious. Because, as you've said, all the former dramas had happy endings for all the couples. I was surprised to hear that, too. But I don't mind unhappy endings, I just like to know beforehand. That's why I love spoilers. :)

I almost gave up after the first episode too, because it was so SOOO BORING. NOTHING HAPPENED. I think I just kept at it out of sheer procrastination with not wanting to work on the Trapped fics I had on the table.

I plan to watch the 3rd episode later today. Maybe even the 4th, too, since I will probably fast-forward a lot again. :)

I was only half paying attention when I was watching the earlier episodes, because they were impossibly dull, but I got the impression that the B-couple (Zhi Gang and Bo Xiang) getting together was really sudden, and the suddenness didn't make a lot of sense to me at the time. I'd like to hear your thoughts on that when you get there?

Aw, and thanks about the icon. I am very tempted to just...fill my icons slots with Andy and Kenny being adorable together. <3 Because...LORD, they are so cute and might even be together.

I will post about my reaction after I watch more episodes. I watched the 3rd yesterday - fast-forwarding through most of the main couple scenes definitely helped in me being more entertained than bored. :)
