Crash Landing On You – I finished it on Monday. And I can wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s romantic and heart-warming and funny – a well-balanced mix of romcom, action and suspense. The main couple is wonderful and has great chemistry. There is the secondary couple that I also grew to love despite not really liking the two people in it at first. There is a lot of fantastic supporting characters. I especially loved the four North Korean soldiers – Captain Ri Jeong-hyuk’s subordinates.
I wrote earlier about the drama’s... hmm, how can I call it, gentle approach to showing realities of life in North Korea. I did mind it a little at first, but the more I got involved in the plot and the romance, the less I minded.
The one thing that surprised me was the ending.
Based on the lighthearted tone of the whole drama and focus on romance and action without devoting much time to realism, even in the parts happening in North Korea, I expected it to have much more straightforward happy ending. And it definitely wasn’t that.
The secondary couple Seo Dan/Gu Seung-joon had a tragic, unhappy ending. Gu Seung-joon died saving the life of the woman he loved. At least we are shown that a few years later Seo Dan managed to come to terms with that tragedy, and that she has a successful and good life, even if she will never forget about Gu Seung-joon and his love. And I get that unhappy ending, because what other end was possible for them. Gu Seung-joon couldn’t stay in North Korea, and if he got back to South Korea, he would be in prison for a very long time. And what could Seo Dan do? Leave her family and run away with him, and live in hiding for the rest of her life?
But I really thought that Ri Jeong-hyuk would stay in South Korea with Yoon Se-ri. He didn’t. The ending for Yoon Se-ri/Ri Jeong-hyuk was more bittersweet than happy. They did meet again after a few years separation, and they are still in love, but they have only two weeks each year when they can be together in Switzerland.
The Untamed - episode 15
It was good and I liked it. There was no Lan Zhan’s beautiful face for me to look at in awe, but there were so many interesting things that I barely missed him. :)
Madame Yu was awesome. She’s a bad mother and she was horrible to Wei Wuxian, but in this episode she was awesome. Her fight with Wen Zhuliu was great. I also loved her two loyal maids Jinzhu and Yinzhu.
Other happy things:
My new Guardian fic is finished, and will be posted when I find time for editing, probably Friday or Saturday. Now I’m making a decision about what to write next – should I try to finish one of the Guardian fics in my WIP folder, or maybe start something new?

Yes, that issue was a bit fuzzy. But my impression was that his orchestra went to Switzerland every year especially for that event for young musicians organized by Yoon Se-ri's company. But how he manages to live with her for those two weeks, and not in a hotel under the supervision of some North Korean secrets service operative - I don't know. Maybe he has special privileges, because of his father. :)
And I glad you enjoyed the drama. It gave me a lot of joy and I'm happy I encouraged other people to watch it. :)
