I finished it yesterday. I liked the ending. It ended the way I suspected it would.
Major spoilers below.
I suspected that it would end with death. But I didn’t want for just one of them to die. I wanted Seo Hwi and Nam Seon Ho to either live together or die together. They died together in each other arms, and it was tragic and angsty and beautiful. Of course I loved it. 😊
The main political intrigue was rather boring. I knew nothing would happen to Bang Won and he would become the king, because I was curious and read a little about the beginning of the Joseon dynasty as soon as I watched the first three episodes.
But everything about Seo Hwi and Nam Seon Ho’s relationship was perfect. I plan to re-watch my favorite scenes and maybe post some quotes and pics later, because it brings me so much joy. I mean other people in the drama comment quite a lot on Seon Ho’s importance to Hwi. And they do that despite Seo Hwi being in love with Hui Jae and those people knowing about that love.
One of Hwi’s men say this to Seon Ho: “Hwi has so many wonderful people around him. You’re number one among them.”
And another one says this: "I think Hwi and Seon Ho were the sun and the moon in their past lives. I bet that’s why they are so inseparable in this life.”
Also Woo Do Hwan is very good at pining and making “I’m so in love with you” eyes at his costar. 😊
