Fannish woes and fannish joys

Well, there is just one woe. I want to sign up for Yuletide and I already have my letter written, but I don’t have a fourth fandom needed for my offer.

I have been waffling for the last few days about it and I still don’t know what to do. There are two, possibly three fandoms available in the tagset that I can add, but the problem is I would be disappointed if I had to write for one of those and not one of those other three fandoms. Maybe I should just treat this year? There are already a few requests with visible letters that I like.


But there are a lot more fannish joys. Mostly connected to my newfound love for Nam Goong Min. He’s just so talented and beautiful and charming that I couldn’t help but fall head over heels. 😊

I started Hot Stove League just for him. And I like it a lot. It’s another office drama, only instead of a big corporation here we have a losing baseball team, and Nam Goon Min is a new general manager, who is supposed to lead the team to victory.

And I’m in awe of Nam Goong Min’s talent, because his character here is like the polar opposite of Kim Sung Ryong from Chief Kim. Kim Sung Ryong is full of chaotic energy, he shouts often and he makes silly faces and gesticulates wildly. Baek Seung Soo is calm and cool and quiet and he never raises his voice, and he almost never smiles (at least in nine episodes I’ve watched till now). Also he is a super woobie with a lot of tragedy and complications in his past and current life. And I will never get tired of watching as he beats arrogant and smug men that underestimated him at their own game.

His newest drama is called Awaken. It’s a crime drama. The 30 seconds long teaser dropped today and I already love Nam Goong Min’s character. He’s looks cool and hot with very short hair. 😊

The drama premiers on November 30 and I hope it will be available somewhere when I can watch it with English subtitles. Please, please, please.

Oh no, that's a difficult decision about Yuletide. I'd say try to offer something no one is requesting, but you never know who will sign up at the last minute. (Still, some things are probably less likely to be requested than others ...)

Anyway, yeah, just treating also works! *hugs*

Those other fandoms I can add all have requests already, and a few visible letters, so I know there is a possibility that I could get those assignments. I would like to sign up, I like the excitement and the element of surprise, but also getting a gift is very nice, but it isn't the most important part for me in exchanges. So, we'll see, I still have a few days to make a decision. *hugs back*

I'm never likely to watch any of these dramas (even the baseball one...) but I'm enjoying reading your takes on them a lot. I hope you work something out for Yuletide!

Thanks, I’m glad my post are enjoyable. 😊 And every time they start talking about baseball in this drama, it all goes “whoosh” over my head. I know absolutely nothing about baseball. But the rest is very compelling. 😊
