I feel like such a stupid person. After almost four years of using Netflix I only discovered yesterday that when you change the language in you profile from Polish to English you have access to many movies and shows available on Polish Netflix, but without Polish subtitles, just with English subs. When the language in the profile is set as Polish you can’t see those movies and shows at all during searching or browsing. Which means that, after complaining about such a small selection of Korean dramas here, now I have access to so many more of them. And more importantly to dramas that I always wanted to watch, but that are unavailable in my region on VIKI.

And mainly these five:

Doctor Prisoner – for Nam Goon Ming, of course

Signal – a crime drama with a little supernatural twist

Chicago Typewriter – for Yoo Ah In and the possibility of another delightful OT3

Save Me – previously I wanted to watch this drama for Woo Do Hwan, now also for Taecyeon. But this one will probably have to wait a bit more for me to be in the right mood to watch it. It looks pretty heavy, and I don’t really have mental power to watch anything heavy right now.

The Fiery Priest – because it’s written by the same guy (Park Jae Bum) who wrote Chief Kim and Vincenzo, so there’s a good chance I will love it.

I only have three more episodes of Bring It On, Ghost to watch. But still I already watched half of the 1st episode of Doctor Prisoner yesterday. Nam Goon Min is fantastic as always, and he looks so beautiful, and I can’t wait to watch more. 😊

But I have to say if the drama is available to me both on VIKI and on Netflix, I prefer to watch it on VIKI. Bring It On, Ghost is available with English subs on Netflix, but I will finish watching it on VIKI, because Netflix subs ignore honorifics, which I hate. I know it’s hard to translate, or even impossible, but then I wish they would just leave them untranslated, with maybe a short explanation when the word appears in the subtitles for the first time. Like for instance in Vincenzo Jun Woo calls Hong Cha Young “sunbae”, and the subtitles (both Polish and English) have him call her by her name Cha Young. Gah... It is not the same. I prefer when they leave words like "sunbae" or "hyungnim" written exactly like that, which VIKI translators usually do.

It's so great when something like this comes to light! A treasure trove of new stuff to discover.

This is such a translator's headache. I agree with you about leaving them as they are; maybe some translation companies are fussy about it?

I mean, I guess that makes sense, but how could they hide them from you like that, the big meanies!! So happy you've found them now (even if their subtitles are frustrating). \o/

Oooh, I didn't know about that. *wanders off to investigate*

Signal is so good!
