I finished the first draft of my Yuletide fic. It’s a very rough first draft and it needs a lot of editing and a few hundred words more to make it presentable, but it’s done, yay. I was thinking about one treat, but I don’t know if I will have time to write it. December will be so hard at work.
My week in Kdrama watching:
Secret Royal Inspector & Joy - I watched episodes 3 and 4 and I enjoyed them a lot. But I think I’ll wait until more of it airs before watching the next episodes. I got so out of the habit of waiting a week for new episodes. I either get too impatient, or forget what happened and spend the first few minutes of a new episode trying to remember how the last one ended. 😊
The Veil – I watched 9 episodes and then drifted away because of Tunnel. I will watch the last three episodes for sure, but I have to admit that while I enjoyed episodes 1-5, later I started to get bored and only Nam Goong Min’s beautiful face and acting talent kept me watching. Someone wrote a comment that he carried this show on his broad shoulders, and I agree.
Tunnel – this is my newest love. It’s about a detective from 1986 who travels in time to 2016 while chasing a serial killer through a titular tunnel.
I’m very invested. I started watching on Monday and I already watched 11 episodes. It reminds me of Signal a bit. And while I think Signal is better in general (IMO Signal’s script is better and it’s better at keeping consistent internal logic concerning time shenanigans) I find Tunnel more emotionally engaging. Part of it is for sure time travel, since that’s one of my favorite tropes.
And acting in both those dramas is excellent. In Tunnel I especially like Yoon Hyun Min as a detective from 2016 Kim Seon Jae (I haven’t seen him in anything else and he is a very beautiful man), and Lee Yoo Young as the psychology professor Shin Jae Yi. I love that Shin Jae Yi is a female lead and she’s allowed to be weird. And I mean really weird, not cutely weird. And I ship her and Kim Seon Jae hard.

Tunnel sounds vaguely like one of the great fandom loves of my life, Life on Mars. :D

Oh, I haven't thought about it and I did watch Life on Mars twice and loved it. It is a bit like that, just in the opposite direction. :) And your comment reminded me that there is a Korean version of Life on Mars. I have to see if is available to watch somewhere.
