Wandee Goodday episode 1
I liked it a lot. It was funny, sexy and entertaining. Great and Inn have fantastic chemistry, and I love both their characters already. Inn is so adorable as Wandee, seriously. And Great as Yak is of course hot, and a bit arrogant, but also very sweet.
I love Thor and Fluke IV as the secondary couple already, too, despite them having just one short scene.
Also – asexuality representation, yay. And it’s not just subtext, they actually say the word on screen. It’s Drake’s character Kao, who is Wandee’s best friend. And they explain things, and it’s clearly done for those in the audience who may not know what ‘asexual’ mean, but they do it in such a natural way, that it doesn’t feel like a lecture. I was very impressed.
I’m so, so happy that it’s good, it will be nice to have a BL drama to watch on Saturdays again.
At 25:00 in Akasaka episode 3
Still so good, still love it.
What I find fascinating in this drama is that Asami a few times deliberately position himself physically lower than Yuki. Like for instance kneeling on the floor when Yuki is sitting on the couch. Like he wants to appear non threating to Yuki, and indicate subtly that Yuki is the one in control when it comes to the pace of their relationship, maybe?
It happens in this episode, too. We have Yuki sitting on the bed while they watching the 1st episode of their drama together, and Asami is sitting on the floor by the bed.
Deep Night
Only good news here. There will be an additional special episode this Thursday, yay! I saw spoilers and I’m full of squee, and I can’t wait. 😊
Also this – the lovely F/F side couple Freya & Meiji are getting their own spin-off. They already started filming it. Yay again!!! Finally a GL drama with older women. Freya’s son is around 20, so I think she’s supposed to be around 40 years old. And Meiji I think is more or less the same age. I’m so excited for this one. It’s called Deep Love.
My Dearest
It’s so relentlessly bleak, that I was getting too depressed watching it. I had to take a break after the 17th episode. And now my beloved won the best actor award at 60th Baeksang Arts Awards, and it motivated me to go back to it and watch the last four episodes. And yeah, I watched half of the 18th episode earlier today, and now I have to take a break again at least till tomorrow. One lovely and soft scene at the beginning, and then nothing but angst and misery and tragedy for 30 minutes. This drama is very good, but also for me so hard to watch sometimes.
And to end this post on the more optimistic note take a look at this pic of Higuchi Kouhei and Mashiko Atsuki, because wow, they look so beautiful together it takes my breath away. ♥

Minor spoilers here.
Asami is flirting and Yuki of course doesn’t recognize it for what it is. He’s so oblivious, that sweet boy. And not just about Asami’s feelings, but about his own feelings as well. He’s already so obviously in love and he doesn’t realize it.What I find fascinating in this drama is that Asami a few times deliberately position himself physically lower than Yuki. Oh, cool! NGL, the editing on Deep Night really isn't for me, while the characters themselves and their relationships very much are. So while I wish the pacing was different, I would love to see more about Freya, she's a very interesting character!
