What to watch next

Damn it, I was ready to be excited for HIStory 4 Close to You despite not really liking what I’ve heard about this drama earlier. But yesterday I saw the final 7 minutes long trailer and I don’t like it either. It’s here on YouTube with English subtitles.

The 6 minutes long trailer for Trapped was wonderful and it basically made me fall in love with the drama right away. That one is disappointing. I will still check it out, who knows, maybe it will pleasantly surprise me. But I doubt it.

I have only two last episodes of The Mystic Nine left. I will watch them this evening, and then on the weekend the joy of reading fanfic awaits me. :) Now I have to decide what to watch next.

Maybe I will start Word of Honor. For now I download episodes as soon as they appear on YouTube. I saw people worrying that it might get taken down, because it’s heavy on subtext. So it’s better to be prepared in case I will love it and want to re-watch it.

When it comes to Korean dramas I’m waiting for Vincenzo and Sisyphus: The Myth. Both dramas will be on Netflix here. Vincenzo has rather good reviews from what I’ve read so far and I’m excited to start it. Unlike Sisyphus: The Myth, which doesn’t seem to be liked. But I don’t care, because it’s about time travel, so I still want to try it. :)

Word of Honor: It isn't subtext as much as heavy hints, haha. The first episode takes some patience but it gets better. So much better. Once you get started, I would love to hear your thoughts.

What made you not like the HiStory4 trailer, though? I thought it was fine, possibly a little trope-heavy but the series has always done a nice job (MODC ending aside), so I'm open mind about it.

The trailer for HiStory3: Trapped is so good, I agree! I think it's Meng Shao Fei's big eyes. And Jack's evil-ly smirk. ^_^

That trailer is trop-heavy, true, but I don't mind that in general. And I don't mind stepbrothers in love thing. I love Wang Zhen Wen and Wang Zhen Wu from Crossing the Line, so there's a chance I will like that subplot here, too. But I really dislike that "please pretend to by my boyfriend to make my female crush who is a fujoshi to notice me" subplot. Those scenes from the trailer made me cringe from second-hand embarrassment. But I loved History 2 and History 3 dramas, so I am willing to wait and see. Who knows maybe I will fall in love and eat my words. :)

I'm enjoying Word of Honor! The first ep is a bit angsty and grim, but it livens up as soon as the meet cute happens.

You're right, in that trailer it does look like it. And I like some of the tropes, but here they did it in a way that I don't enjoy at all. I will still watch it, or at least try to, but I will wait until the drama is fully subbed on VIKI.
