My right arm is fine again, yay. It means that I didn’t have an excuse anymore not to clean a bathroom, but that’s a small price to pay for my right arm being fine again. :D And now I’m celebrating by making this post full of pics and links.

A few links first:

Three kdrama multifemale fanvids showing women in Korean dramas being badass

Salute

Single All The Way – a trailer for a cheesy Christmas movie on Netflix, but this time in m/m version, with Michael Urie, Luke Macfarlane, Kathy Najimy and Jennifer Coolidge.

Brains Are Jerks At 3AM - funny and very relatable. :)

Lu Zhi Gang and Sun Bo Xiang from History 4 Close To You )

I'm ending with a quote from Lu Zhi Gang’s wedding speech:

“Thank you for having the courage to confess your love to me back then. Although I pushed you away again and again, you always persisted and pulled me into your world. Thank you for teaching me how to be happy again. Thank you for teaching me how to be brave and accept myself. Thank you for teaching me how to embrace love again.”

Awww... ♥

I know I will sound like a broken record, but I’m so fricking tired. I’m sure partially it is a post-COVID effect, but also because I really had a lot of work at work this year. We have a new person in our department since October so hopefully the next year will be better.

And here are things that helped me get through this week:

That's My Man – a beautiful Something in the Rain fanvid

I will always be fond of this drama. It was my first Korean drama and I still love Jung Hae In and Son Ye Jin so much in it. I don’t want to re-watch the whole drama, since there is a lot of heavy stuff there, but I would love to just re-watch their scenes, because they were so great together.

And here is Jurassic Park, but with the T-rex replaced by the big black cat. I like this version better. 😊

And I downloaded the episodes of History 4 with Lu Zhi Gang and Sun Bo Xiang, but I didn’t have time or the energy to make screenshots or gifs yet, so here have a few lovely gifs I found on tumblr.

Last but definitely not least - I’ve read that apparently Max and Tul confirmed that they would have a project together in 2022. And it might be the adaptation of the BL novel Transplant, which is the sequel to Manner of Death by the same author. Please, please, please, let it be true.

Why did nobody tell me that Sun Bo Xiang and Lu Zhi Gang from Make Our Days Count were in three episodes of History 4 Close To You? I found out by accident yesterday evening. I instantly went and watched their scenes. They even had a weeding in the last episode! And it was the sweetest scene ever. You can believe that there was much squee and a lot of aww noises and making heart-eyes at the screen. :) Pics and gifs coming up as soon as I download the relevant episodes.

In other BL dramas news - here is the trailer for a new Thai BL drama Cutie Pie. It looks so delightfully tropey. There is an arranged marriage, hidden identity, misunderstanding and jealousy – I hope it will be as much fun as it looks. It is set to premiere in 2022.

As for Korean dramas – I watch Signal right now. I finished episode 11 yesterday. It’s very good and I love it. And I have a serious crush on Kim Hye Soo. She’s amazing and has those incredibly beautiful, expressive eyes. I watched the 1st episode of Hyena maybe half a year ago, and I loved her there, too. I just found the male lead very annoying, so I didn’t watch more. But now I will for her, as soon as I’m done with Signal.

I’m also doing canon review for my Yuletide assignment. I have a pretty clear idea for a fic and I’ve written 500 words already. Yay for that. :) I glanced at other requests, and there are a few interesting prompts for treating, but I want to finish my assignment first.

Work is exhausting, physically and mentally. It should get better next week, and I want to take a few days of leave in the second half of May. And for now I cope by watching a lot of shows.

I finished Descendants of the Sun a few days ago. In general I liked it, but the last two episodes were kinda disappointing.

Spoilers here )

I also finished a re-watch of the 4th and the 5th season of Legends of Tomorrow yesterday, just in time for the 1st episode of the 6th season to air. Which I watched today morning and it was wonderful. And to my surprise this time I’m really into John Constantine/Zari Tarazi. Their scenes in the new episode were lovely and gave me a lot of shippy feelings. I even read a few fics and I’ve got one rec:

And Call It Home (2162 words) by little_librarian

And I started History 4 Close to You on Saturday. But, after watching 4 episodes, I have nothing good to say about this drama. I’m so disappointed, I really hoped that I would like it somehow.

Venting with spoilers behind the cut.

And while I wait for Vincenzo to appear on Netflix here (on May the 9th), I was looking for a Chinese drama to watch for a change and I watched two episodes of Joy of Life. Mainly because I really loved Zhang Ruoyun in Medical Examiner Dr. Qin and I wanted to see him in something else. And it’s ok, I guess. I wasn’t instantly smitten, but I enjoyed it enough to want to watch at least a few more episodes.

Damn it, I was ready to be excited for HIStory 4 Close to You despite not really liking what I’ve heard about this drama earlier. But yesterday I saw the final 7 minutes long trailer and I don’t like it either. It’s here on YouTube with English subtitles.

The 6 minutes long trailer for Trapped was wonderful and it basically made me fall in love with the drama right away. That one is disappointing. I will still check it out, who knows, maybe it will pleasantly surprise me. But I doubt it.

I have only two last episodes of The Mystic Nine left. I will watch them this evening, and then on the weekend the joy of reading fanfic awaits me. :) Now I have to decide what to watch next.

Maybe I will start Word of Honor. For now I download episodes as soon as they appear on YouTube. I saw people worrying that it might get taken down, because it’s heavy on subtext. So it’s better to be prepared in case I will love it and want to re-watch it.

When it comes to Korean dramas I’m waiting for Vincenzo and Sisyphus: The Myth. Both dramas will be on Netflix here. Vincenzo has rather good reviews from what I’ve read so far and I’m excited to start it. Unlike Sisyphus: The Myth, which doesn’t seem to be liked. But I don’t care, because it’s about time travel, so I still want to try it. :)
