And there are so many good things in the AO3 collection and in the comments of dreamwidth community. I’ve already read a few fics, and since I don’t have any plans for the weekend I do intend to read much more then. :)


In other news – I finished watching a Korean drama Nevertheless last week. A quick review in two words: unique and disappointing. :) It’s certainly a very unusual Korean drama. Right in the beginning of the 1st episode there is a scene with a group of young women talking about having sex with guys met on a dating app, because they like having sex with guys. And it’s treated as a normal thing, and they are not vilified for it. It’s so refreshing to see in a Korean drama. It’s refreshing to see a Korean drama acknowledging that young people have sex and it’s a totally normal thing. :)

There is also a steamy sex scene between the main couple, and a lovely secondary canon F/F couple. Don’t expect any steamy sex scenes or even kissing for them of course, just a few hugs and hand-holding, but they were the best part of this drama for me. And not only for me – out of 107 fics currently on AO3 98 are about them. Just look at these two cuties:

And since today, finally, the 2nd season of Hospital Playlist is available on Netflix here, so this is a Korean drama I’m watching next.

ahh i really wanted to like this drama - because it doesn't stigmatize sex, and because of the f/f plot line - but i just couldn't with the main couple. lemme see if i can hide the spoilery stuff (also possibly triggery for uhh, consent issues?) he actually says at one point that she better be sure (about kissing him, i think?) because he won't be able to stop, aaaaaand i noped the hell out. that's just as much a red flag for me in a budding romance as it is between people who have been sleeping together for god knows how long.

i did like the second lead, the cook dude - he was SO CUTE and wayyyy less creepy.

I absolutely get why people could decide to stop watching. Everything about the main couple was rather frustrating for me, and it was the most boring part of the drama. I even fast-forwarded a few times. I addition to that I think Song Kang is a bad actor. Apparently he’s the next It Guy in South Korea and I don’t get it.

And yes, that scene you mention was creepy. Next are my quick thoughts about the ending, so let me hide it, too.

I would retroactively feel better about this scene and a few others if in the end Na Bi didn’t get together with Jae Eon again, after breaking up with him at last. But she did and it’s presented as this romantic happy ending, and I guess we’re supposed to think he’s changed, and it made me want to throw something at the screen. *sight. But at least Ji Wan and Sol got their happy ending, so that lessen my overall disappointment with the ending a little bit.

And now I got reminded again how disappointing that ending was, ugh... :)

btw i've been doing a backread of your entries (i was not on DW for a while and missed your 2PM love) and now i'm mainlining the devil judge, so THANK YOU FOR THAT. whew, this show!!!
