Good things

RL sucks and is stressful. Not just because of coronavirus, but because of other things, too. There is this situation at work that could be a good thing or a bad thing – I’ll know next week.

But unquestionable good things are:

The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty episodes 21-28

8 new episodes again this week. Still so much fun and perfect for cheering up. ♥ And I’ve read today that all the episodes aired in China already, so I peeked at spoilers. So behind the cut there are spoilers not just for the episodes available on VIKI, but for the later ones, too.


First a few notes about this week episodes.

I guessed Tang Fan had only pretended to be bought, because he was too smart to let himself be manipulated like that. But Sui Zhou, straightforward and good guy he is, believed in Tang Fan’s about-face and he decided to part ways with him. But oh how hilarious that was when Tang Fan finally told Sui Zhou the truth, and the next day made him apologize on his knees, publicly, for wanting to leave. Tang Fan enjoyed it far too much. It gives me plot bunnies. :)

And we met baby Wang Zhi in flashbacks. Awww, he was so cute and innocent as a 6 years old.

And episode 28 ended on such a cliffhanger. I’m not worried about our three main heroes, I know they won’t die. But I desperately want to know how the current situation will be resolved. And now I have to wait three days for the next two episodes. Argh...


As for spoilers for future episodes – so Duo Er'la will die from the poisoned arrow. I’m very surprised, because I was sure she was supposed to be Tang Fan’s love interest and maybe even have a happy ending with him. But no, apparently not. I wonder why was she introduced then? To distance the drama from its BL roots and establish that Tang Fan is straight?


But the drama ends well, although I didn’t want to read any specific spoilers. So I will know what “well” means in 2 or 3 weeks, depending on weekly amount of translated episodes on VIKI.


Guardian

I claimed Ye Huo for the 2nd round of Focus on Supporting Characters discussion posts on sid_guardian. So, I started a re-watch of Ye Huo’s episodes.

And apparently I have “how many people I can pair Chu Shuzhi with in fanfic” phase, because, beside writing my exchange fic, I also started writing Chu Shuzhi/Ye Huo fic. :)

I really wish we'd have gotten more Ye Huo, either as him being recruited into the SID (another field operative!) or some other means.

I would love that, too. So much. Even just fanfic would be nice. Who knows, maybe I'll write it one day. :)

So, uh, yes, this is a nice ship and I'll be buying a ticket for the maiden voyage.

Heh, yes, I had many rare ships lately, but that one is the rarest - there are no fics at all. :D
