It’s so hot here again. And it’s this kind of stifling, humid heat that happens before the storm. I went to have coffee in my favorite café in the morning and came back drenched in sweat. Ugh... No more going outside today, so instead I’m making this recs post with a lot of cute, funny and exciting things. 😊


Ballboy Tactics

This short Korean BL was super adorable and sweet, even though it didn’t avoid mentioning heavier topics, like for instance homophobia in sports.

Both leads are talented, pretty and have great chemistry. Just look at these two cuties:

I like that Jeong Wu was confused for like a week, and then he accepted that he was in love with Ji Won. And he instantly went all in in flirting with Ji Won. And in kissing Ji Won. And right after flirting and kissing he came out to his friends, without much hesitation and anxiety.

And the secondary couple is very cute, too. Consisting of that one knowledgeable best friend, who instantly recognizes what was happening with Ji Won and Jeong Wu, and of that other clueless and dumb best friend, who not only doesn’t notice anything about Ji Won and Jeong Wu, but doesn’t recognize his own feelings. Well, ok, it seems he finally did get a clue right at the end. 😊

This is an upcoming short (8 episodes) supernatural kdrama, which starts airing in August. I was sold just by the summary and cast. To quote Mydramalist:

12 animals who received a call from heaven and came down to the human world to save it. They are each given their powers to protect humans and are reborn as 12 angels. Led by the tiger angel Tae San, the leader of the angels, the 12 angels fight a bloody battle against Asura, the king of demons who was hated by God and banished, and the demons to protect the human world.

There are Ma Dong Seok, Seo In Guk, and Ko Kyu Pil as angels. And in addition to that there is Park Hyung Sik as a cruel villain with beautiful black wings. I’m so in. 😊

Some canons are just perfect for ‘POV outsider + social media’ fics, and Kpop Demon Hunters is one of them. And this fic is hilarious. I have never watched anything by that Todd guy, but it didn’t prevent me from enjoying this fic.

BeOnCloud’s new BL drama is finally here. Welcome back on my screen, Bible. I missed your beautiful face and your acting talent.

I watched the 1st episode, it was good, and I am very intrigued. And I trust Sammon, who wrote the screenplay, so I’m pretty sure the rest of the eight episodes will be good, too. Now I have a dilemma if I want to watch it at the pace of one episode a week. Or should I wait for all the eight episodes to air, and then watch it all in two-three days. Maybe I’ll wait since I can’t watch it legally anyway. Or, you know, I probably could, but only by jumping through hoops (it’s available on VIU, and only in Thailand and a few other Southeast Asian countries). And I’m too lazy to do that. The other way is so much easier. 😊


The Rebound

In one word – disappointing. A strong start, very mixed middle part, and a very bad ending. I watched the last two episodes basically fast-forwarding through most of it. A few good secondary characters kept me watching in the second half, but the screenplay was very weak, and I have to say that Meen and Ping don’t work for me at all. Separately as actors, or as a pairing. I haven’t seen any of their previous dramas, but here they were not good at all. Even their chemistry was only so, so for me.


Feng Yue Shi

It’s a Chinese BL mini webdrama. I found it here on Youtube. Or rather Yotube recommended it to me, presumably because I watched so many Meet You At The Blossom vids lately. Good work this time, Youtube algorithm, I trained you well. 😉

It’s very short, only 7 minutes, but it packs so much in such a short time – angst, drama, love, jealousy, murder, and a sort of a twist ending. I enjoyed it a lot, and I already watched it twice. 😊

One more thing - you know that couply magazine photoshoots BL ships always get when they become popular? Guess what - Seo In Guk and Ahn Jae Hyun had one photoshoot like that, too, lately, for Cosmopolitan.

The best part is when they start talking about expanding on the story from K.Will’s two vids. Seo In Guk starts pitching a short drama. And Ahn Jae Hyun says he prefers a movie. And then adds: “Just throw in a bed scene.” Heh, but also - yes, please, get on that South Korea. They‘re both very good actors, they are good friends, they’re clearly very comfortable with each other, and they have fantastic chemistry. Can you imagine if we saw them kiss? Because I will be forever disappointed that this moment:

Dangerous Romance episode 5

That was again adorable. And do I spot a possible GL pairing? Please, say yes, show, please.

Ah, no... This is not a real love triangle, right? I had the impression that maybe Pimfah sees that there is something between Kang and Sailom, and did the padlock thing on purpose, to spur Kang into action? Because Kang right now is deep in the denial and unable to recognize his own feelings.

But I’m probably overthinking this, and it is a straightforward love triangle. In that case – ehhh, I don’t like it. But ok, I’m willing to wait and see. And if I’ll get my GL pairing later everything will be forgiven. 😊

And here is something cute and funny: 2PM being themselves on stage (15th anniversary concert edition). And “being themselves” means all 2PM boys being, as usual, chaotic giant dorks. 😊



And one more thing - a very interesting talk between Perth Nakhun and Luke Ishikawa Plowden, who played Nathee in The Jungle. Perth is half Thai half Australian, and Luke is half Japanese half American, and they talk about their experience of working as foreign actors in the Thai entertainment industry.

It's a funny and educational 14 minutes long vid about Thai names and honorifics made by BL actor Perth Nakhun, using examples from Thai BL dramas.

I know I will sound like a broken record, but I’m so fricking tired. I’m sure partially it is a post-COVID effect, but also because I really had a lot of work at work this year. We have a new person in our department since October so hopefully the next year will be better.

I will always be fond of this drama. It was my first Korean drama and I still love Jung Hae In and Son Ye Jin so much in it. I don’t want to re-watch the whole drama, since there is a lot of heavy stuff there, but I would love to just re-watch their scenes, because they were so great together.


And here is Jurassic Park, but with the T-rex replaced by the big black cat. I like this version better. 😊


And I downloaded the episodes of History 4 with Lu Zhi Gang and Sun Bo Xiang, but I didn’t have time or the energy to make screenshots or gifs yet, so here have a few lovely gifs I found on tumblr.


Last but definitely not least - I’ve read that apparently Max and Tul confirmed that they would have a project together in 2022. And it might be the adaptation of the BL novel Transplant, which is the sequel to Manner of Death by the same author. Please, please, please, let it be true.

Work is exhausting. The situation here in Poland is just argh... I have one thing to say: ***** *** (Polish people will understand :)).

But I watched this today and it cheered me up a bit – it’s F/F with reincarnation in the form of a short Chinese lipstick commercial. It’s beautiful and I want fics. :)
