The official trailer for Thai BL drama The Ex-Morning

Ok, that looks great. I didn’t plan to watch it at first, because I never watched SOTUS and I have no emotional attachment to KristSingto as a ship. But I saw them separately in other dramas, and they are both good actors. And they look so good together here. Also – do I spy Earn and Jamie as the secondary GL couple? Because yes, please, give it to me. And even more importantly one of my newest loves Aou is here in a supporting role. 😊 So yep, now I will be watching this one. It starts airing on May 22.

This is a great interview. Jeff is charming, intelligent, funny and humble. And amongst other things he talks about wanting to do a world tour and going also to Europe. And oh wow, yes, please, please, please. Because as long as it is in Europe, no matter what country, I should be able to go and see Jeff Satur on stage. And that would be amazing.

I don’t want Korea doing this ‘fixed pairings’ thing Thailand does, but, yes, I would love to watch other BL dramas with these actors, just in other combinations. It was really one of these shows when everybody had chemistry with everybody. Just take any two actors of those four and make them a main pairing, and I would run to watch this show. 😊

Spare Me Your Mercy

It’s a Thai BL drama adapted from the novel "Euthanasia" by Sammon. The same Sammon, who wrote Manner of Death novel. It’s about a police officer and a doctor who team up to solve the case of suspicious deaths of elderly patients (a police officer’s mother was one of the victims). A doctor is played by Tor Thanapob, whom I loved a lot as Khatha in Midnight Museum.

Amidst a Snowstorm of Love

It’s a new cdrama with Wu Lei. It looks good and I plan to watch it, but I’m waiting for all the episodes to be available on VIKI.

GENIC is a 7 member Japanese co-ed group, and I’ve been listening to them lately, because one of its members is Mashiko Atsuki aka Yoh from My Personal Weatherman, which I lately re-watched for the second, and probably not the last, time.


dOpamine by OnlyOneOf

I re-watched Bump Up Business last week, and somehow liked it so much more this time than when I watched it for the first time a few months ago. I was pretty meh on it then. It’s pretty low budget and feels rather rushed in the second half, since it has only 8 episodes, and each episode is only 15 minutes long.

But this re-watch made me fall into the rabbit hole of OnlyOneOf music (Nine is my bias, as the kids these days say 😊). dOpamine is their latest song.

Bump Up Business is a Korean BL about idol trainee Eden, who is paired with his older colleague Jihoon to form a duo. Managers decide that this duo will use Business Gay Performance as the concept to attract fans’ attention, but Eden and Jihoon fall in love for real, of course. Two main characters and four supporting characters are played by the members of OnlyOneOf.

I don’t know why I fell so hard after watching it for the 2nd time, but this time something clicked for me and I did. I want to write fanfic (I might have started writing already, whoops). Of course it’s another super tiny fandom, there are only 8 fics on AO3. But what can I do, the heart wants what it wants. 😊

Kang is obsessed with making Sailom kneel at his feet. I don’t think he realizes why. 😉

They came very close to making Kang unredeemable to me, he was awful in this episode. But the last scene kinda pulled me back into rooting for Kang’s redemption. And Kang’s grandma is the best and I love her.

Only Friends ep 3

This show, God damn it, this show… It’s so messy and I love it.

Proper reaction coming tomorrow after a re-watch, and for now in short my emotional journey through this episode: poor Nick... Ray, no... poor Sand... Top, no... damn it, Boston... 😊

Midnight Museum

The last two episodes aired this week. And what a weird and confusing, but at the same time very entertaining drama it was. It’s like TPTB decided to just throw everything in one big pot: time travel, magic, immortals, manipulative gods and/or aliens, multiple alternate universes, cursed artifacts. Then added great actors and a lot of homoerotic tension between the two leads, and stirred. And voila you have Midnight Museum.

I enjoyed it a lot and I hope there will be the 2nd season. The ending is open enough for that, so it seems the creators do hope for another season, too. And what a playground for post-canon fanfic. I hope there will be a lot of fics.

Kdramas

Crash Course in Romance finished airing here on Netflix a few weeks ago, but I still haven’t gotten around to watching it. Instead, since I was in the mood for sageuk, I started The Secret Romantic Guesthouse on VIKI. And I like it a lot. But it’s an ongoing drama and for now only 6 episodes are available, and I already watched three.

Bad things

Health problems still occur. Like I’ve said before it’s nothing really serious, just a few persistent and annoying minor things. But they just really tire me lately when combined together like that.


Disappointing things

Extraordinary Attorney Woo

I enjoyed it a lot during the first 8 episodes, then I started to get a bit bored. And then after episode 10 I started to get very bored. I thought that surely with how well written this drama have been so far there would be no need for any generic kdrama tropes (like for instance ( this spoiler )) to appear. But they did appear en masse. Ok, I admit that I did chuckle when I saw The White Truck of Doom, but the rest – ehh, I couldn’t care less. Also neither the main couple nor the secondary couple worked for me. The finale managed to restore a bit of my faith in this drama, it was cute and optimistic, but it was too little too late for me. Apparently there will be the 2nd season, but I don’t think I will watch it.

The Eclipse – episodes 3 and 4

I’m very pleasantly surprised by how good this drama is for now. I loved those two episodes and I can’t wait for more. Thua and Kan own my heart. Akk and Ayan are also great. This will be another perfect fandom for Yuletide this year.


One Thousand Won Lawyer

This is the new drama with my beloved Nam Goong Min, and it will start airing on 23th September. It looks like a return to a Chief Kim type of role for my beloved. I can’t wait and I hope it will be available on VIKI.

Nam Goon Min is reunited in this drama with two of his costars – Kim Ji Eun from The Veil and Lee Chung Ah from Awaken. I loved them in The Veil and Awaken, so I’m delighted to have both of them in this drama.

My opinion on the subject of singing in Thai BL dramas is “please, stop doing that”. :) I usually fast-forward through all the songs. There are two exceptions – NuNew in Cutie Pie, and lately also Jeff Satur. Funny thing is I didn’t really care for his singing in KinnPorsche, but I loved his songs from Ingredients and He, She, It. My two favorites are:
